Visa and insurance

In order to obtain a visa for India, an Online Visa application has to be made. See https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/ for more information.

Delegates should ensure that they have a valid visa for India. For this meeting, a Conference Visa is required and more detailed information concerning visa regulations for India can be found at the following link from the website of the Ministry of External Affairs: http://passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/online/visaServices and the website of the Delhi Tourism: http://www.delhitourism.gov.in/delhitourism/travel_tips/visa.jsp.

We advise attendees to apply for visa as early as possible, as the visa application procedures can be lengthy.

Delegates who require a visa can obtain an official letter of invitation from the GBIF Secretariat by sending a request to gb21@gbif.org. 

Attendees are advised to make sure what insurance is requested for travel to India.
